The 1 st International CNG exhibition 2008 has been inaguarted with the participation of 16 countries in the city today. The inaguration ceremony held in the China-Bangladesh friendship conferance center in the city yesterday at 3.30 pm. Prof. M. Tamim, special secretary of the honorable Chief Adviser of ministry of power, energy and minaral resources division.

In his speech the chief Guest said, about the tremendous expansion of CNG sector in Bangladesh. He also indicated good relationship among the local business sectors and Govt Authorities. He also emphasised on improvisation of local technology and coupled with our local CNG sector. He thanks the organizer to arrange such exhibition in this country and hope the best. After that he inagurated the exhibition and visit all the stalls.

This four days long exhibition will continue until 25th November. A cylinder safety workshop on 'ANGVA CNG Cylinder' on 23rd November and other about and 'Problems and future of CNG Sector in Bangladesh' will be held on 24 th November in the exhibition area.

Everyday from 10.00am to 8.00pm, the exhibition is open for all visitors except the exhibition opening day. CNG cylinders, conversion kit, CNG compressor, Dispensers and other relevant accessories will be displayed in the exhibition by many foreign participants. The total performance of CNG sector will be accelerated through this exhibition, the organizers hope so.

The user of CNG in our country will be benefited directly from the manufacturer. Canada, China, Korea, India, Pakistan, Argentina, New Zealand, Italy, Turkey, Malaysia, United Kingdom, USA, Iran, Singapore & Bangladesh as host are participants in this exhibition.

In the opening ceremony, honorable secretary Mr. Mohammad Mohsin of ministry of power, energy and minaral resources division, as special guest, Chairman of Petrobangla Mr. Jalal Ahmed, Managing Director of RPGCL, Engr. Shahidul Abedin, Executive director of ‘Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicle Association' Mr. Lee Geek Song, ‘Bangladesh CNG station & Conversion workshop Owner's Association' & Chairman Mr. Saiful Islam Kamal, Vice Chairman Mr. Riyadh Ali was present at that time. The program chairman by Mrs. Monowara Hakim Ali, President of Chittagong women chamber of commerce and Industry and as well as the chairman of "GEMS".
